During his working visit to the Primorye Territory, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected some of the Zvezda Plant’s facilities, including the Zvezda-DSME and Vostok-Raffles production areas and shipyards in construction. The construction of the shipyards and the modernisation of the shipbuilding complex are scheduled for completion in 2018.
Dmitry Rogozin also went on board the Magadan nuclear submarine and the Ryazan ballistic missile submarine.
At the Zvezda Plant, the Deputy Prime Minister discussed the concept of the creation of a shipbuilding cluster in the Primorye Territory’s south with the local administration and specialists. As Dmitry Rogozin said, the country needs to establish a “second magnet” – a centre of political, economic, and social development in the Far East, as the Far Eastern regions border on such leading countries as China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
Then Rogozin held a meeting of the Marine Board on Russky Island. “The implementation of many large projects in the Far East is expanding. There will also be new major projects. This is therefore a long-term course,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
