During the meeting, Dmitry Rogozin discussed military equipment purchases from abroad.
“If we need to borrow foreign experience, then it is not the armed forces but rather the defence industry that should be doing this, so as to manufacture modern hardware on the basis of the acquired knowledge,” Mr Rogozin emphasised.
“We won’t have a screwdriver industry,” he said. “I am dead-set against it, and I have the understanding of the new Ministry of Defence leaders on this score,” he said.
