Vitaly Savelyev chairs meeting of the 1st International Transport and Logistics Forum Organising Committee
The meeting agenda addressed essential organisational issues, the forum’s business programme, cooperation with forum participants and partners, and matters concerning infrastructure, information and media support.
The 1st International Transport and Logistics Forum (ITLF) will take place on 1–3 April in St Petersburg at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organised by the Russian Ministry of Transport, with Roscongress as the conference operator, the ITLF is endorsed by the Russian Government.
“The International Transport and Logistics Forum will offer a platform for transforming strategic tasks into specific projects and solutions. The event will contribute to smooth coordination on the development of international transport corridors passing through Russia, the expansion of the capacities of the North- South International Transport Corridor, the Northern Sea Route, and the transport infrastructure of all the participating countries,” Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev noted.
The forum’s key topic, “Transport connectivity as the foundation of the new world order: From global competition to comprehensive security,” will be addressed during the forum’s plenary session.
The ITLF will bring together deputy prime ministers and ministers from over 60 countries to discuss the expansion of transport corridors, legislation alignment, and the development of an integrated digital transport system. “Russia offers its partners alternative, safe and technologically advanced routes that connect countries and continents far beyond Greater Eurasia. The forum will also cover infrastructure integration, the digitalisation and automation of checkpoints and multi-modal transportation, sustainable logistics, as well as the implementation of unmanned transport systems. I am confident that by taking this overarching approach, we can further streamline our coordinated efforts and adopt crucial international solutions to achieve Russia’s and its partners’ national development goals,” Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin added.
About fifty events are scheduled across the forum’s three sections, Logistics and Transport Industries, Global Connectivity and Transport Corridors, and Digitalisation and the Future of Transport. Discussions will cover integration of national transport systems into a global logistics network, developing seamless logistics and digitalising the industry to improve Eurasia’s transport connectivity with Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Gulf countries.
“The extensive business agenda will promote a multilateral dialogue on the further progress of global transport and logistics as well as Russia’s role in them. Organised in line with the Russian President’s instructions on boosting the Russian transport corridors’ global competitive ability, which are part of the national development goals until 2030–2036, the ITLF will promote practical solutions for seamless routing and thus lay the foundation for the prosperity of the Eurasian continent through long-term mutually beneficial partnerships on a new geopolitical landscape,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the ITLF Organising Committee.
The full business programme and information about the speakers are available on the official website of the International Transport and Logistics Forum.
The ITLF is organised in line with President Putin’s instructions to ensure the strong competitive ability of the Russian transport corridors on the global market, including implementation of the President’s executive orders within the national development goals up to 2030 and for the prospective period until 2036.
