Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.
They discussed the future of bilateral cooperation in a broad range of areas, including fuel and energy, finance, banking and investment.
“Vietnam is an old and trusted partner in the region. Russian-Vietnamese relations, which are based on the traditions of strong friendship, deep trust and mutual assistance, have stood the test of time. The talks between President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam held in Moscow in May 2025 set the direction for the further development of our multifaceted bilateral cooperation. We are committed to implementing the agreements our leaders have reached,” Alexander Novak emphasised.
During the visit of the Vietnamese Prime Minister, state-run companies Zarubezhneft and PetroVietnam signed agreements on developing their cooperation both in Russia and in Vietnam, in accordance with the agreements reached by President Putin and General Secretary To Lam. The signing of these documents has shown that cooperation between the two state-run companies is the driver of Russia-Vietnam energy cooperation.
