In Moscow, the inaugural session of the organising committee for the preparation and holding of the International Collective Security Forum and associated events, under Russia’s 2026 chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), was convened under the leadership of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
Meeting participants deliberated on key logistical and substantive matters pertaining to the forum’s preparation, in addition to its coordination with other events scheduled during Russia’s CSTO chairmanship in 2026. The final dates for the event were confirmed.
“The forum builds upon traditions established by the resolutions of the 2025 CSTO Summit in Bishkek, which affirmed a collaborative trajectory focused on fortifying the collective interests and initiatives of CSTO member states on the global stage. Russia’s CSTO chairmanship in 2026, under the motto Collective Security in a Multipolar World: Common Goal, Shared Responsibility, aims to advance collaboration in securing the CSTO’s technological leadership in the military sphere. I am confident that the decisions taken during Russia’s tenure will further the strategic interests of member states and reinforce the CSTO’s role across Eurasia,” underscored Russian Deputy Prime Minister and organising committee chairman Alexei Overchuk.
The forum is directly linked to the central event of Russia’s CSTO chairmanship – the session of the organisation’s Collective Security Council on 11 November 2026. Prior to the summit, a joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defence Ministers, and Committee of Security Council Secretaries will be held.
“The forum will be held in Moscow on 10–11 November. Its seamless integration into the programme of key events during Russia’s CSTO chairmanship will enable to gather highest-level participants to discuss global issues of shared and indivisible Eurasian security in a multipolar world. It will also bolster business-level collaboration through the development of joint projects and commercial ties. Furthermore, this new platform will facilitate the practical exchange of cutting-edge technologies and expertise in critical fields to achieve the objectives of Russia’s 2026 chairmanship,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia and organising committee Secretary.
The forum will host official delegations from CSTO member states (the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan), alongside international experts from allied nations and territories. Over 1,000 attendees are expected, including delegation heads, defence leaders, business executives, and leading scholars. The venue will be the International Trade Centre.
The business programme will feature a meeting of the CSTO Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation’s Business Council, as well as a session of the CSTO Coordinating Council of Authorised Bodies on Exhibition and Advertising Activities. A highlight will be an exhibition of national displays by member states, supplemented by stands from enterprises and organisations showcasing products, advanced technologies, and expertise across core CSTO domains – from air defence systems and cybersecurity to logistics and industrial innovation.
Russia assumed the CSTO chairmanship from the Kyrgyz Republic on 1 January 2026. The proposal to convene the International Collective Security Forum was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the 2025 CSTO Summit in Bishkek and approved by the CSTO Collective Security Council.
