The International Conference on Cooperation in Science and Technology is being held to advance multilateral cooperation among the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the fields of science and technology, to support youth initiatives, and to promote promising developments in the Eurasian region.
During the conference, the heads of the official delegations will be presented with finalist projects and technological innovations prepared by international teams of young scientists working in the areas of biotechnology, industrial diagnostics, and environmental safety. The selection of projects for the finals took place in several stages. In November 2025, a competitive review of youth research projects was conducted in thematic areas aligned with the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2026–2035, approved by the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS on 29 September 2025.
Following the evaluation, 16 projects out of 60 applications were selected for in-person consideration, which took place on 26 November 2025, during the fifth Congress of Young Scientists at the Sirius Federal University.
Based on the project defences and expert assessments, six projects were admitted to the conference finals. The showcase program includes presentations of these finalist projects, as well as their discussion and evaluation with the participation of the heads of delegations.
The finalist projects correspond to the priority areas for the development of scientific and technological cooperation among CIS member states:
• Transition to a new energy system based on environmentally friendly and resource-efficient technologies, including the development of new energy sources, transmission methods, storage solutions, and applications.
• Transition to highly productive agricultural and aquaculture systems via introducing genetic technologies for creating safe and high-quality food products, ensuring food security, and developing a full-cycle food production system.
• Transition to advanced technologies for the design and creation of high-tech industrial products, primarily in the medical industry, energy, mechanical engineering, and the agro-industrial sector.
• Reduction of the impact of emissions on the environment and climate, and the adaptation of ecosystems, populations, and economic sectors to climate change.
• Acquisition of fundamentally new knowledge and technologies by enabling world-class scientific research through the use of unique megascience-class facilities.
