Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has taken part in the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council commission. Its agenda covered matters dealing with carrying out the 2025 Strategy, promoting e-commerce within the EAEU and other topics relating to interactions between EAEU member countries.
The resolutions adopted at the meeting provided for labelling specific food products and some perfumery and cosmetics, personal hygiene and household cleaning products. In accordance with these documents, member states will be able to determine the date and modalities for labelling these products on their territory at their own discretion subject to notifying the Eurasian Economic Commission at least six months before enacting these decisions.
This will guarantee that every EAEU member country recognises the labelling used by other members since they will all comply with a single standard.
The participants in the meeting have also spoken out in favour of granting subsidies from the Council budget for carrying out two collaborations. The first one is titled Arranging Desktop Manufacturing in the Russian Federation in Cooperation with EAEU Countries and the second one goes under the title Setting Up High-Technology Manufacturing Sites for Railway Transport, Including High-Speed Trains.
The mechanism for offering financial backing to EAEU manufacturers provides for subsidising the interest on loans and borrowings for financial institutions involved in joint projects benefiting from funding from the Council’s budget.
So far, 16 applications for subsidies were submitted, including 13 from Russia, two from Kazakhstan and one from Kyrgyzstan for a total of 17 billion Russian roubles. With five projects approved, other applications are currently pending.
During the meeting, participants also approved the agenda for the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting on 11 December 2025 in Moscow, as well as the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which is scheduled to take place on 21 December in St Petersburg.
