Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov arrived in New Delhi on a working visit to hold a series of bilateral meetings and take part in events ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s forthcoming visit to India.
The First Deputy Prime Minister held a meeting with India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The discussions were also attended by Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov.
The parties reviewed key matters related to interbank and financial cooperation, including the development of payment and settlement infrastructure, and continued consultations on an intergovernmental agreement concerning the promotion and mutual protection of investments.
The First Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the positive progress in mutual settlements, noting that transactions between Russia and India are now conducted almost entirely in their national currencies.
