Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak took part in the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum in Beijing.
“The Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum has been convened since 2018 and is now in its seventh iteration. It can confidently be asserted that the forum has evolved into a significant instrument for fostering the growth of Russian-Chinese energy collaboration and for facilitating bilateral agreements on the implementation of joint projects within the energy sector and its related industries,” stated the Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak observed that energy cooperation between Russia and China is consistently strengthening, enriched with new dimensions, and transforming into a genuine strategic alliance.
Collaboration is progressing in the oil, gas, and coal sectors. Furthermore, fruitful cooperation continues in peaceful nuclear energy and electricity supplies to the PRC. There is a well-established exchange of expertise in scientific and technical development, the management and operation of power grid systems, the development and transfer of technologies, and personnel training. Among the strategic priorities are enhancing the energy security of both nations, which encompasses ensuring stable energy resource supplies for the future, expanding long-term hydrocarbon supply contracts, technological collaboration, the implementation of joint gas transportation projects, and the development of cross-border infrastructure and logistics.
“The Russian Federation is committed to the closest possible partnership with the Chinese side in the energy sector across all areas of cooperation. I am confident that integrating the efforts of our two nations in both traditional and new energy will ensure the sustainable development of our economies and create a technologically balanced energy landscape for the long term,” emphasised Alexander Novak.
