First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, who is leading the Russian delegation, has toured the display of Russian manufacturers at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The Russian exhibit this year spanned nearly 5,000 square metres, featuring nearly 900 exhibits from major companies in the aircraft manufacturing, space, and defence industries. More than 30 of these are physical exhibits, presented both at the static display and in the Russian pavilion. During his tour, Denis Manturov inspected the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter, an aircraft with proven combat experience that is being showcased in the Middle East for the first time. The event also featured the world debut of the modernised Yak-130M combat and training aircraft and the Ka-52 helicopter, the latter equipped with the Kh-MD multipurpose homing missile for engaging ground and surface targets.
“Today, I asked our Su-57 chief pilot how effectively artificial intelligence is used in the pilot’s work,” Denis Manturov said. “This is especially relevant for a fifth-generation aircraft, which is one of the best in the world. It has proven itself in combat during the special military operation. AI is now integral to accelerating the pilot’s decision-making, particularly when operating in a group. It is impossible for a single person to make tactical decisions while simultaneously flying the aircraft and managing its weapons. This is why AI actively supports the pilot in these operations.”
Key exhibits from the engine-building sector included the modern, next-generation 177S turbojet engine with improved technical characteristics, the latest VK-650V power plant for light helicopters, and a line of small-size engines for various types of unmanned aerial vehicles. Roscosmos State Corporation and other companies from the rocket and space industry showcased examples of current and future technology, including spacecraft and satellites.
Russian manufacturers presented a range of civilian and military UAVs, covering reconnaissance models (such as the Supercam S350, Orlan-10E, Orlan-30, and Skat-350M), attack systems (including the Lancet-E system and Kub-2-2E loitering munitions), and multifunctional platforms (like the KSI UAV with a modular architecture).
“The exhibition features a wide variety of unmanned aerial vehicles, from the very small to the very large. This demonstrates that our products are in demand not only for our special military operation but also in international markets. We see potential buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, Latin America, and Africa who are familiar with our products and are interested in them,” the First Deputy Prime Minister noted.
