Russia has handed over to Kyrgyzstan six Lada Largus cars equipped for transporting detection dogs and 60 bodycams.
The transfer took place in Bishkek during a meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev.
“The Russian side transfers six cars equipped for transporting detection dogs and 60 bodycams to the Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic. These cars will enable officers from the republic's customs dog units to efficiently combat illegal drug trafficking, and the bodycams will help them improve the customs control procedure and minimize the risk of corruption,” noted Alexei Overchuk.
In 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic asked the Russian Government for technical assistance in supplying cars for transporting detection dogs and bodycams to the Kyrgyz customs service.
On behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federal Customs Service of Russia provided the requested vehicles and equipment.
