Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak had a working meeting with Aidarus Al-Zoubaidi, Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Head of the Southern Transitional Council.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to trade and economic cooperation.
Alexander Novak stressed the historical depth and resilience of bilateral relations: “Russia and the Republic of Yemen are bound by strong friendship that dates back almost a century. Our partnership has never been interrupted,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
He recalled that the USSR had provided Yemen with significant socioeconomic and technical assistance, reaffirming Russia’s commitment to further strengthening and developing cooperation between the two countries.
“We are ready for constructive dialogue on all pressing issues,” Alexander Novak noted.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organise the first session of the Permanent Russian–Yemeni Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in the near future.
