Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak met with Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week.
The parties discussed their cooperation in energy sectors, including cooperation in oil industry and electric power engineering.
During the meeting, the parties pointed out that Russia is the principal supplier of oil products to Tajikistan providing for about 90 percent of the republic’s consumption. The parties continued the discussion on implementing their joint projects on oil deposit development in Tajikistan.
In addition, significant progress has recently been made in resolving the issues in the operation of Sangtuda 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant joint enterprise.
