Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son on the platform of the Russian Energy Week. The parties discussed trade, economic and energy cooperation, as well as investment projects.
“Enhanced interaction with Vietnam – our long-standing friend and reliable partner – remains a priority area of the Russian foreign policy. We are determined to continue our advantageous cooperation in a variety of areas in order to promote a comprehensive strategic partnership,” underscored the Deputy Prime Minister.
The countries continue efforts to organise future supplies of the Russian oil to Vietnamese refineries with a view to increase their trade. Cooperation in the peaceful nuclear development is growing as well. Currently, specialised agencies are working on upgrading the legal framework, technological configuration and the economic model of the draft construction project of Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant, the first project of this kind in the country.
