Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week.
“We highly appreciate the well-reasoned foreign policy course of the Hungarian leadership, which is trying to follow its pragmatic line and firmly stands for its national interests. It helps preserve the common structure of Russian-Hungarian relations, continue the exchange of views during regular political contacts and use the groundwork done for further targeted cooperation in the areas of mutual interest,” Alexander Novak emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that their constructive interaction in such fields as energy, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, culture and higher education is growing as well as their trade.

At the meeting, the Russian side expressed readiness to participate in the projects to construct new and upgrade and renovate the operating power engineering facilities as well as hydroelectric power stations in Hungary.
