Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk attended a meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The meeting participants discussed the key issues on the current agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union, focusing on the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.
Council members highlighted the results achieved in several areas and stressed the need for further coordination of actions among the member states to enhance the effectiveness of joint projects.
The harmonisation of responsibilities in technical regulation, as well as sanitary and phytosanitary measures, was discussed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of a unified approach to the application of rules and procedures, which will strengthen trust among integration participants and create favourable conditions for doing business.
A separate discussion focused on customs and tariff regulation. The Council considered proposals aimed at supporting industry and protecting the domestic market.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Eurasian Economic Union member states to deepening integration and developing coordinated solutions in key areas of economic development.
