Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang held the 22nd meeting of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Energy Cooperation, which was held in Beijing. The parties have discussed a wide range of issues on interaction in the fuel and energy sphere.
Alexander Novak stated that Russian-Chinese cooperation in energy is a major component of bilateral relations.
“The People’s Republic of China is the largest and most reliable partner of the Russian Federation in the international energy market. Russian energy resources account for the greatest part of the entire trade between our countries,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
Alexander Novak stressed that in its energy policy Russia proceeds from the need for enhancing global energy security – jointly with the international community – and providing common access to reliable, available and affordable energy sources. At the same time, Russia is committed to the closest partnership with China in the sphere of energy across the board.
“Naturally, we will continue our comprehensive work to implement the achieved understandings on the current and future cooperation projects and actively put into practice the tasks of developing all-round friendship and cooperation between our countries set by President Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
