During a working visit to India,
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev met with Indian Prime Minister
Narendra Modi to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two
nations.
“Russia values its privileged strategic partnership with India, which is one of our key allies on the international stage. Our economic cooperation gains momentum every year, and in 2024, bilateral trade reached a historic high,” Dmitry Patrushev stated during the meeting.
The discussions also covered ongoing efforts to finalise a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and India. Another key topic was the proposed creation of a BRICS grain exchange, a step expected to boost mutual supplies of agricultural products.
Dmitry Patrushev emphasised Russia’s commitment to consistently strengthening the bilateral partnership and maintaining a constructive dialogue across all areas of industrial cooperation.
