Resolution No. 1177 of 6 August, 2025
The Government has decided to increase the quota for the export of scrap and waste ferrous metals beyond the boundaries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This will let the industry players sell on an external market additional amounts of raw materials in excess of demand on the internal market.
Under the resolution the quota will grow by 300,000 metric tonnes: from 1.5 million to 1.8 million tonnes. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will distribute the additional amount of the quota among the foreign trade participants. The decision will be effective until 31 December, 2025.
Should the scrap and waste ferrous metals be exported within the established quota, the duty is set at five percent, but not less than 15 euros per tonne, if exported in excess of the quota – the duty is five percent, but not less than 290 euros per tonne.
The signed document has amended Government Resolution No. 1945 of 27 December 2024.
