The officials discussed interaction within the Joint Russian-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation and results of efforts to implement the directives issued by the commission co-chairs following its latest meeting. They were pleased to note the recent launching of a direct air link between the two countries and the signing of several memoranda of understanding in different areas, such as industry, education, media, and organizing the Hajj.
The talks focused on prospects for boosting trade and expanding cooperation in key economic sectors of mutual interest. The officials also discussed preparations for the ninth meeting of the intergovernmental commission scheduled for 6 November of this year in Riyadh.
Yet another topic was the oil market situation and prospects for bilateral cooperation within OPEC+.
