A meeting of the Organising Committee for the preparation and hosting of the International Transport and Logistics Forum, scheduled for spring 2026 in St Petersburg, was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
The meeting brought together representatives of federal ministries and agencies, executives from leading transport companies, as well as industry experts and partners.
“The key focus is on the development of international transport corridors, including the North-South International Transport Corridor, strengthening integration within the Union State, the EAEU, and the CIS, enhancing the regulatory framework in coordination with global industry bodies, and leveraging the potential of organisations such as the SCO and BRICS. Ensuring a high level of preparation and organisation for all forum events is a top priority,” Vitaly Savelyev said.
The forum, set to take place in St Petersburg in late April 2026, will serve as a new strategic platform for in-depth discussions on the future of transport logistics, international corridors, regulatory frameworks, digital transformation, and the adoption of innovative solutions in the transport sector. The Roscongress Foundation has been appointed as the forum’s official operator.
“We organise numerous events in the transport sector throughout the year, and the launch of this forum will allow us to structure the annual cycle more efficiently: in spring, we will focus on the international logistics agenda, while in autumn, the domestic agenda will be addressed during Transport Week,” said Transport Minister Roman Starovoit. “This approach will enable us to present Russia’s interests in a coordinated and consistent manner across various platforms, from the EU and CIS to BRICS and the SCO.”
During the meeting, participants proposed launching an immediate invitation campaign targeting both international and Russian partners. Plans also include developing the forum’s corporate branding, launching an official website, establishing the programme’s working structure, and selecting the event venue.
“This initiative aligns with
the Russian President’s instructions to enhance the global competitiveness of our
transport corridors, including the implementation of national development goals
through 2030, with a long-term outlook to 2036. The forum is clearly in demand – our international partners have repeatedly emphasised its importance. There
is strong interest in creating a platform that enables continued, substantive
engagement, in particular between forum events. Currently, the forum’s
architecture and programme content are being developed in collaboration with
the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant
agencies. This will not be just another event, it will serve as a hub for showcasing advanced solutions, highlighting industry achievements, and fostering international dialogue on logistics and infrastructure,” said Anton
Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia and Executive Secretary of the Organising Committee.
