First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov took part in the international exhibition, Innoprom: Central Asia, and spoke at the main plenary session titled “Strategic Industrial Partnership in Central Asia: Integration based on advanced technologies.” Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev also took part in the main session.
Opening the main session, Denis Manturov noted that the industrial partnership with Central Asian countries was on the list of priorities, “Today, Russian enterprises are widely represented in the region. Their share in the total number of foreign companies in Uzbekistan is about 20 percent, in Kyrgyzstan more than 30 percent, and in Kazakhstan already over 40 percent. The aggregate volume of Russian investment in the Central Asian economies exceeded 760 billion roubles last year alone, which makes it possible to increase the portfolio of joint projects in agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, the automobile industry, the chemical industry, metallurgy, and many other sectors.”
The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that despite the high level of cooperation, the growth potential has not been exhausted, and emphasised the importance of expanding cooperation in response to global challenges, including the green economy, infrastructure projects, retail operations, etc.
“If we talk about promising areas of cooperation, they are consolidated in the national projects of technological leadership. We began to implement them in Russia this year. We place special emphasis on achieving sovereignty in means of production, including additive solutions and industrial robots. The same applies to all types of transport, including transport using alternative fuel and autonomous parts. We focus particularly on developing innovative materials and chemicals and improving technologies for medicine, energy, and agriculture as well as expanding the range of space services,” Denis Manturov said.
“It is gratifying to note that every year the exhibition is becoming larger and attracts participants not only from Russia and Central Asian countries, but also from Saudi Arabia, Belarus, and Afghanistan. Today, we are witnessing new promising and large-scale horizons of interaction. As of late 2024, Uzbekistan’s trade with Russia and Central Asian countries amounted to nearly $20 billion. Uzbekistan has about 5,000 enterprises with capital provided by these countries. More than 650 joint projects worth $67 billion are being implemented in various sectors of our country’s economy. Despite such intense relations, we realise that we can do much more,” Jamshid Khodjayev said.
Denis Manturov and Jamshid Khodjayev took part in a ceremony for exchanging folders with agreements signed during Innoprom aimed at expanding cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
