Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Mohammed Ahmed Sultan Essa Al Jaber, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation.
“Relations between our countries are evolving rapidly. We genuinely value the dialogue established across various areas of cooperation. One of the most significant sectors is the agro-industrial complex. Last year, trade in agricultural products between Russia and the United Arab Emirates grew by nearly one-third. We anticipate this positive momentum will continue throughout the current year,” Dmitry Patrushev said.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that this year marks the tenth time Russian companies have participated in the Gulfood exhibition. He emphasised that Russia is prepared to expand its exports to the United Arab Emirates, including grain, halal meat, oil and fat products, and confectionery.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of a dedicated working group to enhance bilateral dialogue on ecology and environmental protection. This initiative will also address biodiversity conservation, with the first meeting scheduled for May this year. Dmitry Patrushev also highlighted Russia’s readiness to share its expertise in geology and subsoil resource management.
“I am confident that our mutually beneficial partnership will continue to grow steadily, further strengthening the trade and economic ties between our countries and contributing to enhanced food security for both Russia and the United Arab Emirates,” Dmitry Patrushev stated.
