Resolution No.78 of 1 February 2025
The Government has set the regional tariff quotas for exporting corn from Russia to markets outside the Eurasian Economic Union. These quotas will be effective from 15 February up to and including 30 June 2025 and apply to producers from the Primorye Territory and the Amur Region. The directive to this effect has been signed.
The document grants agricultural producers in the Primorye Territory the right to export 337,000 tonnes of corn and those in the Amur Region may export 200,000 tonnes.
This decision takes into account the production/consumption balance forecast for corn in the Far Eastern Federal District and will enable local producers to sell their surpluses abroad if there is no demand for them in neighbouring regions of Russia.
The Government approved the quota mechanism for grain exports in 2021. It optimises the balance between the domestic grain market and grain supplies to external markets. Under the quota, grain exports are subject to a floating duty that depends on the pricing environment.
