Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved changes to the allocation of responsibilities among deputy prime ministers for overseeing specific high-tech sectors and for fulfilling the corresponding statements of intent between the Cabinet and business representatives.
Under the revised distribution, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov is now charged with the oversight of efforts to develop a number of high-tech sectors. In addition to the Technologies for New Materials and Substances sector, his portfolio will include the Advanced Space Systems and Services sector.
Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko will now supervise the development of the following sectors: Artificial Intelligence, Modern and Prospective Mobile Communication Networks, Quantum Computing, Quantum Communications, New Industrial Software, and New System-Wide Software.
The advancement of high-tech sectors will support the establishment of new production facilities and the introduction of products and services that will significantly enhance the quality of life. Projects involving cross-cutting technologies are being pursued under statements of intent between the Government and interested business entities.
