Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak visited Mali on instructions from the President of Russia. He was the first deputy prime minister of Russia to visit the country. The Russian delegation included members of the Russian business community.
While in Bamako, Alexander Novak met with Prime Minister of Mali’s Transitional Government Abdoulaye Maïga and other ministers and held talks with Transitional President Assimi Goïta.
The sides discussed trade and economic cooperation and ties in energy, transport, infrastructure, agriculture and mining.
