The meeting took place as part of Mikhail Mishustin’s official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mikhail Mishustin’s opening remarks:
Mr President, first of all, let me thank you for your cordiality, hospitality and warm welcome extended to our delegation. This is my first visit to Iran as Prime Minister. Thank you.
Allow me to convey the warmest words from President of Russia Vladimir Putin to you and to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mr Khamenei.
Today Mr Aref and I had talks together with heads of our ministries, departments, and key state-owned companies, and discussed all issues on the bilateral agenda.
I believe that there is enormous potential for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, industry, trade, and cultural and humanitarian relations between Russia and Iran, though over the past seven months our joint trade has increased by 6.5 percent.
