Russia and Belarus have signed an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation and exchange of information, including confidential information, in the supervision and (or) control over the financial market. The document was developed by the financial regulators of the two states as part of the efforts to implement the Guidelines of Executing the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State. Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk signed the document on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The agreement will help strengthen cooperation, coordinate supervisory activities and exchange information relating to the activities of parent (holding) organisations and cross-border institutions that are part of financial groups.
