Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation with Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley.
The parties noted that the relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia are of strategic nature and constitute an active political dialogue. The trade and economic partnership is developing rapidly. Commonly, agriculture plays the key role. As of late, Russia-Saudi Arabia agricultural trade has reached $1 billion per year, mainly thanks to the exports of Russian grain to the Saudi market. The agricultural trade accounted for more than 60 percent of the total bilateral trade in 2023, reaching almost 90 percent in 2024.
“I believe it is necessary to continue working together. I ‘m confident that we have significant potential for further growth of these indicators. In particular, Russian companies are interested in boosting supplies of grain, fat and oil products, confectionery and halal meat products to Saudi Arabia,” Dmitry Patrushev noted.
He also said that the Russian Government confirms its readiness to develop constructive relations with Saudi Arabia in agriculture as well as in nature conservation.
