Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk chaired a meeting of the Second Eurasian Economic Forum Organising Committee.
In his opening remarks, Alexei Overchuk said that the forum should become a platform for a direct dialogue between businesses and government agencies of the EAEU member states where they would discuss new initiatives aimed at creating a more favourable business environment in Eurasia.
“The theme of the upcoming Eurasian Economic Forum is ‘Eurasian Integration in a Multipolar world.’ This fully meets the tasks of developing Eurasian integration now that the world is facing new challenges. The goal of the forum is to popularise the idea of a union as an integration association in a multipolar world and improve cooperative relations,” Mr Overchuk said.
The meeting participants approved the concept outline for holding the forum. The programme will consist of a plenary session, panel sessions and thematic events on the key issues of developing the EAEU. The agenda includes discussions in priority areas like industry and the agro-industrial sector, energy, finances, scientific and technical cooperation and education, tourism, climate, technical regulations, veterinary medicine, development of the union’s domestic market, e-trade, customs regulations, regional cooperation, state purchases and statistics.
The Eurasian Economic Forum is held annually in the state that is chairing the EAEU. This year, it will take place in the Russian Federation. Starting on January 1, 2023, and throughout this year our country will chair the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
