A teleconference attended by representatives of the government's social ministries, Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare) and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory was held in the Emergencies Ministry's Situation Centre. During the conference, Ms Golodets instructed the Ministry of Regional Development and the Krasnodar Territory administration to design a hydrotechnical flood protection system for the region.
"A protection system must be built and this is instruction number one," Ms Golodets noted. She noted that such problems are successfully resolved abroad, adding that the Krasnodar Territory is a national health resort area and, therefore, the Russian people should be able to feel safe there.
In addition, Ms Golodets instructed the Krasnodar Territory administration to ensure that schools in flooded areas operate normally and, if need be, to use children's camps vacated before September 1 as schools. Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Galina Zolina reported that the ground floor of one school is underwater and will require repairs.
Ms Golodets ordered her subordinates to restore water supply at the disrupted facilities by the morning of August 23 and instructed the Healthcare Ministry to monitor vaccinations in the Krasnodar Territory.
