The parties signed an agreement on Russia granting Belarus a loan to fund joint import substitution projects.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov held a meeting in Minsk to discuss topical issues of Russia-Belarus cooperation in trade and the economy. They specifically addressed the progress in 28 union programmes focused on economic integration between the two countries.
The Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus signed an agreement on granting the Belarusian Government a loan of 105 billion Russian roubles as investment in joint import substitution projects. The finance ministers of Russia and Belarus acted as signatories.
The agreement regulates bilateral import substitution projects on the territory of Belarus. Both sides confirmed their readiness to start funding 12 projects.
