Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov held a working meeting with his colleagues from Tajikistan – Minister of Industry and New Technology Sherali Kabir, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavka Zavkizoda, and Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Saadi Qodirzoda.
Denis Manturov noted that bilateral trade and economic relations have the status of special partnership, which is confirmed, in part, by the positive dynamics of trade between Russia and Tajikistan – in the first half of 2022 it increased by almost 20 percent. The participants discussed future bilateral cooperation in metallurgy, mining equipment, light industry and construction materials. They agreed to intensify cooperation on industrial parks and free economic zones.
The ministers paid special attention to the preparations for the Russia-Tajikistan Investment Forum that will take place in Dushanbe on September 15. Over 100 Russian companies and organisations plan to take part in it. These include industrial businesses from the automobile industry, pharmaceuticals, digital technology and light industry.
In addition, Mr Manturov invited his Tajik partners to attend Spetsmash-Tajikistan 2022, an exhibition of specialised machine building, which is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. It will take place in Dushanbe on October 18 with the participation of Russia’s leading producers of agricultural and municipal equipment as well as road and construction machinery.
