Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk has met with Nikolai Snopkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
The agenda of the talks included topical issues of Russian-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation. Special attention was paid to joint work on the implementation of Union programmes and development of joint import-substitution investment projects.
Alexei Overchuk and Nikolai Snopkov noted the positive dynamics of bilateral trade and economic interaction.
In the context of the Union programmes they discussed tax and customs cooperation and evaluated the progress made toward creating an interstate centre for coordinating risk management, performing analytical functions and monitoring customs operations. Establishment and operation of the centre within the Customs Committee of the Union State is stipulated by the Treaty on the Harmonisation of Customs Legislation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and Cooperation in the Customs Area.
