Issues of mutual interest for the EAEU member-states were discussed, in particular priorities for increasing the sustainability of the economies of the union’s member-states.
The parties considered 49 items and developed consensus solutions to most of them, such as a new package of measures to increase the sustainability of the EAEU member-states’ economies in customs and tariff regulations. The adopted decision zeroes out customs duties on critical imports.
System-wide decisions were made in the sphere of technical regulation to streamline the process of drafting and adopting technical guidelines as well as lists of standards and testing procedures.
Amendments were made to the Safety of Perfumes and Beauty Products technical guidelines which expand the list of substances prohibited in such products, thereby increasing consumer safety.
The participants in the meeting approved the Commission’s reports on competition in transborder markets, assessing major areas of international activity in 2021, studying how the regulatory impact of the EEC’s draft decisions in 2021 was evaluated, implementing projects under the union’s digital agenda, and the efforts to remove hurdles in the EAEU internal market in 2021. Also, the Commission’s report on the progress of the Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 was approved.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to trade and economic cooperation with third countries. The issues will be brought for consideration by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. In addition, the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was approved.
At Russia’s initiative, the date on which efficiency guidelines for energy-consuming devices enter into force will be delayed. Industries were given more time to prepare.
