The Turkmen leader, who is currently in the Russian region of Tatarstan, spoke about his visit to the region and outlined the prospects for the development of Russian-Turkmen interregional relations.
Dmitry Medvedev and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov discussed preparations for the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Ashkhabad in late May 2012. They agreed to hold bilateral talks following this major event. Mr Medvedev and Mr Berdymukhamedov rated the level of Russian-Turkmen relations highly and noted the rapid growth in trade and economic cooperation.
