The meeting was a follow-up to the 18th meeting of the Russia-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission, co-chaired by Yury Borisov and Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz this year in Havana.
The current meeting focused on the discussion of key issues on the trade and economic agenda and progress in implementing major bilateral projects, primarily in the industrial and energy sectors.
Mr Borisov reaffirmed Russia's commitments regarding the humanitarian aid promised to Cuba: essential goods, medicines and food should be sent to Cuba by the end of the year. He also noted that Russian universities will accept and educate 100 Cuban students free of charge.
