During his working visit to China, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich met with Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang in Dalian, where the summer sessions of the World Economic Forum are underway.
Li Keqiang expressed his condolences on the situation in the Russian Far East and thanked the Russian Deputy Prime Minister for cooperation in fighting the flood. Arkady Dvorkovich also expressed his condolences to the Chinese side in connection with the flood. The two officials said that their countries would continue to work together to clear up the consequences of the flood and to monitor the situation.
Mr Li and Mr Dvorkovich also discussed energy cooperation. Arkady Dvorkovich, who chairs the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Energy Cooperation, pointed out that their regular meetings had produced positive results and that cooperation was growing in every area of the energy dialogue and related areas. Li Keqiang said he shares this view and added that each country should promote cooperation not only in the traditional but also in high-tech spheres.
The two officials also reaffirmed that the next commission meeting would be held in October.
