The sides discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial trade and economic projects.
On 21–22 October, an interagency delegation led by Alexei Overchuk visited Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh discussed the future development of trade and economic cooperation. Meeting ahead of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia, the sides emphasised the high level of fraternal bilateral relations and great potential for strengthening cooperation in energy, transport, agriculture and the climate agenda.
Talks with Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene focused on increasing the Mongolian exports to Russia and a number of promising areas of energy and transport cooperation as well as the exchange of experience in the fields of digital governance, public services and tax administration.
Alexei Overchuk also met with Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan to discuss practical measures to increase Mongolian livestock exports to Russia, the implementation of joint gas, transport and energy projects, and the development of barrier-free environment for increasing mutual trade and making use of Mongolia’s transit potential.
