The integration of aerospace companies into an aerospace corporation will allow us to avoid overlapping efforts in creating space equipment and will ensure universal technical solutions, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told journalists after the meeting.
“We can eliminate overlap in the industry and do away with redundant equipment. We will work towards adopting universal design and technical solutions,” Mr Rogozin said. He believes that this approach would ensure that the corporation will only take on the necessary contracts.
He believes that designers must be encouraged to advance novel ideas rather than use existing research and design solutions. In this connection, he proposed competence centres near the Vostochny space centre, and even possibly a special academic town in the Far East to develop new projects for the aerospace industry.
Mr Rogozin also told journalists that the Military-Industrial Commission would recommend Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach for the post of chairman of the board of directors of the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation.
