Good afternoon, colleagues,
At the President’s instruction, an in-depth medical checkup of post-COVID-19 patients will begin on July 1. Today, we will allocate almost 6 billion roubles to the regions to carry it out.
The coronavirus disease leaves lingering marks in the body. It can have severe side effects. Timely checkups will help identify possible complications, offer medical advice and start treatment which is completely free to the public.
Even though the checkup will cover the patients who have recovered from the coronavirus, precautions must be observed in all medical institutions to protect the staff and patients.
We continue to support medical and social workers who work with coronavirus patients. They help people fight the disease, often at the risk of their own health. The stress on them is enormous and many are still working seven days a week.
The Government will allocate a total of almost 8.5 billion roubles to the regions to cover vacation benefits and compensation for unused vacations for medical staff, as well as social workers. Everyone who was eligible for incentive payments last year will receive them.
These people save hundreds of lives every single day. Each of us can and should help them. To do so, first of all, you must take precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones from the coronavirus, take good care of your health and, of course, get vaccinated in due time.
