Mikhail Mishustin’s opening remarks:
Good afternoon, colleagues.
The situation with the spread of the coronavirus in our country is very complicated. The number of infected people is growing and the infection rate has been very high recently. Experts talk about the emergence of new strains that are spreading rapidly and leading to serious complications. This is a threat to people’s health and an additional burden on our healthcare system.
It is necessary to protect people from this disease. It is too early to stop observing the recommendations from experts and precautions. All sanitary-epidemiological measures must be strictly observed so that you can care for your health and the health of your family and friends. This is the only way of reducing the risk of infection.
It is important to increase the vaccination rate. I would like to draw the attention of the regional governors to this. People must be provided with all the necessary information about the dangers of the coronavirus, the consequences of the disease, ways of protecting themselves and their families and friends from getting infected, and, of course, vaccination sites.
Following the President’s instructions, we have organised free vaccination for all residents in every region. Our people have this opportunity as distinct from foreigners, who have to queue for a jab, pay big money for it, or go abroad for vaccination. Let me repeat once again: vaccination is free of charge and available throughout the country. The Russian vaccines have proved to be effective both at home and abroad.
