The heads of government warmly congratulated each other on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, noting the special significance of this public holiday, which is common to the fraternal peoples of Russia and Belarus.
Mikhail Mishustin and Sergei Roumas spoke in favour of further deepening integration within the Union State, creating the most favourable conditions for bilateral economic cooperation and improving the welfare of the citizens of Russia and Belarus.
The prime ministers discussed a wide range of current issues regarding Russian-Belarusian trade and economic cooperation, paying particular attention to coronavirus response, and agreed to intensify joint work between the health ministries and services that ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the people of Russia and Belarus.
Mr Roumas expressed his gratitude to the Russian side for the prompt response to the Belarusian partners’ requests, including regarding the supply of food products.
While discussing energy cooperation, Mr Mishustin emphasised the importance of strict implementation of bilateral agreements that determine the parameters of interaction in the oil and gas sector. As a positive example, the project of constructing a Belarusian nuclear power station using Russian technology was noted. The prime ministers agreed to continue discussions on energy matters within interested departments and organisations.
Mikhail Mishustin and Sergei Roumas also discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts within the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union.
