The two officials discussed the situation with the Amur River flooding, which affected several Russian regions and China’s northeastern provinces. Mr Medvedev expressed his condolences to Mr Li over the flood victims.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Li confirmed the governments’ willingness to render mutual assistance in responding to the consequences of the flooding. The sides agreed to continue exchanging information and coordinating the efforts of the related departments in special response to prevent damages from the flood.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Li also exchanged their opinions on the preparations for the 18th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian prime ministers to take place this autumn in Beijing.
