Current developments regarding the spread of the coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation.
Mikhail Mishustin’s opening remarks:
Good afternoon, colleagues,
Our previous meeting of the presidium of the Coordination Council to control the coronavirus infection included the governors. We discussed what difficulties the governors were facing in their regions and what needed to be done to overcome them.
After monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis, we are ready to provide additional support to the regions. In so doing, we must rely only on current and verified information. This is why we have set up the Information Centre on Monitoring the Coronavirus.
Under the President’s instruction, the centre collects information from all regions via the integrated information resource. This is information on adopted measures, available hospital beds, the provision of personal protection gear and other needed equipment, and access to laboratories and testing.
The leaders of the country are using this important information to make timely decisions and to take measures to counter the coronavirus. Therefore, I would like to ask Mr Chernyshenko and Mr Murashko to continuously check the accuracy of the information submitted by the regions and to report on the situation in a timely manner.
Next week the President will hold a meeting with regional governors and check the preparedness of medical facilities to treat the patients and counter the spread of the coronavirus. Let me remind you that 28 April is the deadline for fulfilling this instruction. We need to step up our work and mobilise our resources.
