The prime ministers discussed current issues in Russian-Ukrainian relations, noting that the recent problems in the countries’ trade and economic links should be resolved on a mutually beneficial and constructive basis and under current law.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Azarov agreed that the corresponding consultations would be held by the relevant Russian and Ukrainian departments in the next few days.
Mr Medvedev emphasised the importance of intensifying the work of the bilateral Commission on Investment Cooperation and Investor Right Protection headed by the prime ministers. The commission is aimed at securing the legitimate interests of Russian and Ukrainian investors and expanding mutually beneficial investment interaction.
