The issue of renovating and increasing the number of civil aircraft is becoming even more relevant, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said at the meeting.
Since 2008, Russian airlines have purchased about 600 foreign and only 59 Russian planes, which is 10 times less, the Deputy Prime Minister said. He noted that modern Russian planes account for about 7% of the total air stock in Russia, and only 4% of all passenger carriages.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to create a working group to coordinate an activity programme on developing civil aircraft manufacturing. By the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister, General Director of the Ilyushin Finance Co leasing company Alexander Rubtsov will head the group.
