Excerpts from the transcript:
Dmitry Medvedev: Welcome, Mr Bartley.
We have a great event today. In 20 minutes we will become its direct participants.
You have headed the entire WorldSkills movement since 2010. First of all, I would like to thank you for what you have done and, of course, for your support of our participation and our initiatives.
Quite recently we embarked on our road in WorldSkills, and now we consider ourselves fully-fledged participants. We are very happy about this.
Simon Bartley: Firstly, thank you very much for the welcome to Russia, Tatarstan and the city of Kazan. I could not have done this, as you say, without the support of Dave Hoey, the chief executive of WorldSkills International, Jos de Goey, who is one of my vice presidents, who is in charge of the strategy committee, and who yesterday was elected as my successor, as President of WorldSkills. [Our congratulations – Thank you very much]. Also, I have to say, without your colleagues on your left, this would not have been a possibility. But most of all, without your creation of WorldSkills Russia some five years ago we would not been here today, and so thank you very much.
