Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with his new Finnish counterpart Antti Rinne, during which he congratulated him on his appointment as prime minister and talked about bilateral trade, economic cooperation and joint projects in energy, industry, high technology, environmental protection and other spheres. The two prime ministers spoke in favour of promoting interregional as well as cross-border cooperation.
Dmitry Medvedev and Antti Rinne exchanged opinions on the future of Russia-EU relations in the light of Finland’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins on 1 July. Also touched upon was cooperation in the Baltic and Arctic regions.
