The meeting of the International Cultural Forum’s organising committee was held on August 2 at the Government House and attended by representatives of the Government, the Ministry of Culture, St Petersburg’s administration, and members of the cultural and artistic community.
In accordance with the committee’s decision, the Second St Petersburg International Cultural Forum will take place on November 14-16, 2013.
At the meeting, organising committee head, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, gave instructions to expand the forum programme by including a greater number of musical and cinema events and launching topical discussions for the professional community, particularly on copyright issues and newly adopted laws in this sphere.
The forum will focus on the upcoming Year of Culture in Russia in 2014. Along with the plenary session, the forum programme will include the First St Petersburg International Winter Theatre Festival headed by People’s Artist of Russia Lev Dodin, a presentation of the Manifesta-10 contemporary art biennale, an assembly of artistic directors of the Union of the Theatres of Europe, and other events.
The forum programme will include over 50 events at St Petersburg’s main cultural venues, such as the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the forum’s main venue, the Mariinsky Theatre, the State Hermitage Museum, Lenfilm Studios, and New Holland Island.
